Also this must be an absolutely surreal experience for Matt who has obsessively (well it was his job) followed Trump on the campaign trail. You can tell that this is blowing his mind.

108. Lisa Kadonaga: After seeing a few more of these interviews ... it looks like Atamanuik tries to drop in a perceptive comment like that, to try to get the interviewee to react. And he mentioned in one article that he'll stay in character, or at least use Trump's voice and mannerisms, because it makes things so surreal. This is becoming my favourite part of the interviews, since Atamanuik seems to be pretty well-read and he comes up with all sorts of stuff. In the one with Dan Savage, he started talking about Jungian psychology (and I remember hearing that Atamanuik has studied the topic) -- unfortunately it's not on YouTube but the Comedy Central US and Australian websites might still have it up.

Lisa Kadonaga: I saw some clips of the Trump and Bernie tour that Atamanuik did last year ... he did make a point of slamming the Dems too, if he thought they were being hypocritical or ignoring important issues. He's not afraid to make people uncomfortable if it'll get his point across, and he's said a number of times in interviews that he doesn't want to go out there and get easy laughs by just parading his Trump out and saying a few catchphrases. Especially if it normalizes the real guy and makes him seem harmless. He's fast becoming one of my favourite comedians, because he really thinks about the intention behind the comedy. People say he's a brilliant improv teacher too.

173. The ChillyWinds: What makes this show great to me isn't even the comedy but rather how the content is actually for the most part from a progressive point of view. This show obviously shits on republican talking points(like all the comedy shows),but unlike the other comedy shows it very frequently says the opposite of what neoliberals want and I love it. It basically isn't a partisan shit show like all the other comedy shows and is actually objective and has its own separate conclusions that don't always align with the democratic party.
