It may have taken nearly two and a half years, but Freeway 240 is finally complete around Kodiapolis. Initially, only the southern portion was planned as a bypass around the city; however, the benefits of a complete loop was realized shortly thereafter. This is the first and only freeway loop of its kind in the world of Kodiak. We start at the technical beginning of 240 at its interchange with Freeway 25 on the southside of town. We will work our way clockwise around the city. Something worth noting, few interchanges with surface streets have been constucted at this time. The interchange with Freeway 40 on the city's eastside had to be reconstructed as a four-level stack to accommodate the new traffic pattern. Enjoy the ride!
